Born in 1981, the designer and artist Zoeli Rota Galindez lives and works in Belluno, a city in northern Italy surrounded by the Dolomites mountains.
Graduated in 2007 from IUAV University of Venice, she joins the Italian creative collective Resign in 2009 and starts her multidisciplinary career, characterised by sperimentation with several materials, from ceramics to plastics and leather, and collaborations with well known artisans and art galleries.
Zoeli belives that everything around us is energy. She puts a special attention to the connections and relationships we create with the objects, observing how the emotions, the history and the world that surrounds us, is embodied and transmitted by the objects. This is a costant factor in Zoeli’s work: the research of the signs embedded in objects.
The result of her work is a combination of art and design, sometimes with an ironical approach, she loves to induce emotions to the people through the stories and the lives hidden behind each object.
Her work have been exposed in several exhibitions such as Salone Satellite, with Resign group, Salone del Mobile, with teapot “touch me” at Veneta cucine stand, Design discount, an exhibition at Fuorisalone, Subalterno 1, with Here we go again exhibition, Museo Internazionale di Arte Applicata Oggi, Design platform Coundown in Torino, What’s happens in the corner? in Zurich, and Mia Galleria in Faenza.
